Add Projects to Categories 2010
![]() |
Maintenance of categories in the EPM solution can, for medium to large implementations, be a time-consuming process. The ability for users to view projects is controlled by the category permission in the EPM solution. Therefore, often projects need to be added to one or more categories to ensure users are able to see this project in the Project Center. This utility uses a custom field that allows project managers to select a value appropriate to the categories of that project. These projects would need to be allocated only to the category appropriate to that department. This utility automates the process and, therefore, saves the administrator a great deal of time. Auto Publish Utility for Project Server 2010
![]() |
In the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management solution, Project Managers determine when to publish a saved project. Unfortunately, for many organizations, this means that some data in the Project Server database is not up to date because Project Managers may save their projects, but forget to publish them resulting in out of date reports and program/project information in PWA. This utility resolves that issue by allowing a Program Manager or Administrator (or anyone with appropriate permissions) to define when projects should be published (typically overnight). Features

Custom Worksites Utility
![]() |
The Customised Worksites Utility creates a Project Worksite dynamically when a project is published for the first time. By default, when a project is published, the project worksite is created if the setting in the Project Web App (PWA) is set to automatic. However, all worksites created using Project Server are on the basis of a single template selected in PWA. Hence, all projects that are published have a similar worksite created on the basis of the selected template. In a real life scenario, the type of project worksite may differ for different projects. For example, a sales type project may need a different type of project worksite as compared to an accounts type project worksite. The Customised Worksites Utility has been created to meet this requirement. Features

EPM Librarian
![]() |
A constant challenge for companies implementing the EPM solution is to ensure that up-to-date documentation is maintained constantly and accurately. Typically, this is a time-consuming process for administrators and, therefore, often gets forgotten or left to a more convenient time. Frequently, other priorities mean that the documentation is inaccurate or incorrect when it needs to be referred to for support or trouble-shooting purposes. This utility removes the burden of maintaining and documenting an EPM solution because it interrogates the current Project Server system and exports all relevant information to an Excel spreadsheet. The utility is quick to run and can be utilized whenever the documentation needs to be updated or reproduced. Features
